Thorikos is an ancient town located on Attica's eastern coast just north of Lavrion. The area was known in antiquity for its silver mines which furnished Athens with much of the basis of its power and wealth.
One of the archeological sites in the area is the ancient theater of Thorikos. It was built of stone in the 6th century BC and it is peculiar due to its unique orthogonal stage and its allipsoidal shape. The site is unguarded and easy to access. There is no admission fee. While shooting, I met with some archeologists from the Belgian Archaeological School in Greece who were in the process of cleaning the theater from the weeds. You can see in the photos that they had cleaned part of the seating area and they were to continue with the rest.

Another KAP (Kite Aerial Photography) panorama. This is Kavouri, an upscale suburb of Athens. It's an excellent spot to watch the sunset or even the sunrise if you wake up that early.

This panoramic picture is composed of several photos taken while the camera was suspended from a kite.

The cave of Perama is located about 4Km from the town of Ioannina, on the road to Metsovo. It is one of the most spectacular horizontal caves in Europe and it was formed about 1.5 million years ago. It was discovered in 1940 by a local resident looking for shelter from aerial bombardments during the Greek-Italian war.
The cave is the largest in Greece with an area of 15,000 square meters. The visitor's route is 1.5Km long and takes about 45 minutes. Unfortunately, the cave lighting was not designed well and the intense yellow lights used don't allow the visitor to distinguish the natural colors of the stalactite and stalagmite formations, everything looks yellow. Nevertheless, visitors are rewarded with spectacular views. The temperature inside the cave remains at 18°C/64°F throughout the year. Tickets cost 7 Euro for adults and 3 Euro for kids.
